Hard surfaces & furniture

Spills on laminate counters, cabinets and enamel

These smooth surfaces clean up with soap and water, then a vinegar step.

  1. Try this first

    Warm sudsy water

Wipe up the spill right away with a cloth or sponge dipped in warm sudsy water. Rinse well and wipe dry. On enamel, glass, melamine and metal, rub with a cloth dampened with detergent and water, then sponge with clear water.

  2. Then try

    White vinegar and water

If a stain stays on laminate, apply equal parts white vinegar and water for 1 minute, then rinse.

    Test a hidden spot first.

  3. Then try

Old coffee and tea: baking soda

For old coffee or tea stains on glass, enamel or melamine, dip a soft damp cloth in baking soda and wipe the stain. Rinse well and dry.

Still there? Try the all-purpose ways or pick another stain.
