Mud and dirt

Let the mud dry first, then brush it off.

  1. Try this first

Dry, brush, then a detergent paste

Air dry the soil, then brush or vacuum off the extra. Apply a paste of detergent powder and warm water, work it into the stain and repeat if it remains.

  2. Then try

    Soak, then a color-safe bleach

Or pre-soak with detergent powder and water for at least 30 minutes, then repeat the process with a color-safe bleach added to the solution.

  3. Then try

Let it dry, brush, then pretreat

Let the mud dry and brush off as much as you can. For a light stain, pretreat with a paste of detergent powder and water, liquid detergent or a detergent booster. For heavy mud, pretreat or presoak with laundry detergent or an enzyme product. Launder as the care label says.

Check the care label and test a hidden spot first. Do not put the item in the dryer until the stain is gone.
