Candle wax on carpet

Harden it, scrape it off, then lift the rest with a warm iron.

  1. Try this first

Ice, scrape, then a warm iron

Hold an ice cube in a plastic bag on the wax until it hardens, then gently scrape it off with a metal spatula. Fold several layers of paper towels over the spot and press with a warm, not hot, iron, moving to a clean part of the towels as they soak up the wax.

Use a warm iron, not a hot one. Test a hidden spot first.

  2. Then try

If colored wax left a dye mark

Mix 1 part rubbing alcohol with 2 parts water. Apply small amounts with a medicine dropper, blotting well after each, then let it dry completely and brush the pile by hand.

Do not use this on acrylic or modacrylic carpet. Test a hidden spot first.
