Candle soot and smoke marks on walls

Do not wet it first. Soot smears into paint.

  1. Try this first

    Dry first, then mild soap

Wipe lightly with a dry cloth or a dry sponge made for soot. Then wipe with a damp cloth and a drop of dish soap, working top to bottom, and dry.

Rubbing smears soot. Test a hidden spot, especially on flat paint, and call a pro for heavy smoke damage.

Still there? Try the all-purpose ways or pick another stain.
